The olive oil “TRAGOS” [pron. „TRAG(h)OS“] is made from olives of the “Manaki”-variety from groves located in the area of Ancient Corinth. Through early harvesting (mid/end October) and immediate pressing, we achieve the production of a strongly aromatic and fruity oil.
Manaki has “deep roots” in the region of Corinth and its cultivation is widespread there; hence this variety is also popularly known as the “Corinthian”.
Τhe olives for “TRAGOS” come from “arid”, i.e. not irrigated, groves of “old (sparse) planting”, so trees need not compete for moisture and nutrients. Even so, only a fragment of the trees manages to bear fruit each year. The groves for the oil “TRAGOS” have been made available to the project by the people involved in it. They are cultivated by Elton Berdufi with maximum respect for the trees and their environment.
