On Sunday, September 28, we carried out our activity “Out into the fields” for the very first time.
We’re very pleased with how successful it was and with the wonderful participation! Despite the cloudy skies and occasional rain, quite a few friends came along — some even with their children! It was a real joy for us to walk through the olive groves together and talk about the olive tree.
As part of the event, the winner of our photo contest “Ode to the Hen!” was also selected — through a direct democratic vote by the participants! The photos were displayed on the olive trees, and after the “judges” strolled among them to examine the entries, they voted according to their conscience — or perhaps their instinct! We had a great time with it!
Judging by our visitors’ reactions, they too had a beautiful and meaningful time!
We truly hope they learned something new, saw things from a fresh perspective, and enjoyed the “simple” and “essential” offerings included in the gastronomic part of the event.
We thank them warmly for “risking” their Sunday morning to come find us, for their interest and their wonderful company!
Our heartfelt thanks also go to our agricultural advisor, Aris Ilias, who joined us and spoke with visitors about conventional and organic farming, as well as to our friend and producer Mihalis Kontogiannis, who honored us with his presence, his knowledge, and his thoughts.
