Although the general condition is good, we are facing some problems as spilocaea oleaginea has befallen Voulgaraki, and, unfortunately, quite extensively! Spilocaea oleaginea is a fungus that kills the leaves, thus weakening the tree.
Unfortunately, nothing can be done for the affected leaves, which will be lost. Any care will focus on the healthy leaves that remain and the ones that will emerge. For this reason, Elton plans to act quickly, so the trees still have time to benefit from the growth period, which will end once the weather warms up.
Under these conditions, it is unlikely that there will be any fruiting in Voulgaraki this year. Weather permitting, the goal is for these olive groves to be in good condition when the new olive cycle begins, in the winter of 2025/2026.
