Harvest Days 2025

Finally the nets are full!

The “Harvest Days” our annual gathering with friends of the project, which takes place every year at the end of October, coinciding with the olive harvest, were completed a few days ago. This was our most successful and largest gathering to date, with 17 old and new friends participating for one or more days!

On behalf of our producer, Elton, we thank everyone who joined us: Ervin, Lorenzo, Themis, Nikos, Evdokia, Ursula, Katerina, Dino, Michael, Martin, Jens, Markus, Dimitris, (the other) Katerina, Fiona, Beate, Sabine and Peter! We hope to have them with us again next year!

Impressions from the Harvest Days

Actionrestexcursions… The “Harvest Days” had it all!

This year’s meeting was filled with particular enthusiasm because, at last, we had a good yield! Honestly, we had missed that, and it brought a sense of euphoria. The days were beautiful. We experienced the freedom and beauty of nature, the excitement of harvesting and producing olive oil, the joy of a shared purpose and collective effort, the “genuine” hunger, and the relief of the bed and deep sleep!

However, our program wasn’t just about work. There was also swimming in the sea, excursions around the area, and feasts in the olive grove or under the oak tree! There was even a brief visit from the billy goat (“tragos” in Greek), who came to the groves, probably to see what we were doing in his name, and perhaps bring us luck and good harvests!

This year’s gathering also included some important innovations. Undoubtedly, the most significant of these – one might even call it a “revolution” – was the “Pot of Tragos”. The “Pot” not only nourished our hardworking crew during critical moments but also became a “hearth,” a place for rest and communication, within the olive grove. Special thanks and congratulations are due to our two Katerinas, who took charge of the “Pot of Tragos” and prepared amazing meals for us: bean soup, baked pasta (giouvetsi), and trachana!

The “Pot of Tragos”

This year’s “Harvest Days” leaves us with the best memories. These memories will nourish our future and the next “Harvest Days.” Now it’s time to attend to the olive oil and prepare our products. But we’re already looking forward to next year’s gathering!
