Since the beginning of June, temperatures in the Corinth region have risen dramatically; on some days they reached highs of 39\u00b0C. Such high temperatures are not usual for this time of year and are certainly not good for our trees that are in bloom. The flowers are too delicate to endure such heat, and unwatered trees like ours can do nothing to keep them fresh. \u00a0Unfortunately, the view of the groves during our visit on June 12, 2024 met our expectations. Few trees are fresh and bear fruit well; It must be due to the favorable location or the favorable soil conditions that they had enough moisture to do this. But most of the trees are full of withered flowers;<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Only a small proportion of these flowers were able to develop into fruit before the great heat set in, so you can only find an olive here and there on these trees – if at all. Certainly, the tree will do its best to ripen these few fruits even if the drought continues, but how many of these trees will have enough fruit to be worth harvesting? \u00a0It is still too early to answer this. The fruits on most trees are still too small to be clearly visible. We’ll be back in the groves in 2-3 weeks and we’ll be able to assess the situation in more detail then.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
